Valerie Harmon has 35 years of experience in commercial, large-scale microalgae production. Before founding Harmon Consulting, Inc., she served as Senior Director of R&D for Cellana LLC; Director of Cultivation, Environmental and Safety Systems for Aurora Algae Pty Ltd; and in multiple roles for Cyanotech Corporation such as Director of Business Development and Director of Cultivation.

She has produced microalgae from lab up to 25 million liter continuous culture systems, and has successfully stabilized and improved production from all systems. Harmon holds a Masters in Agriculture, with an emphasis on Aquaculture, Fisheries Economics and Business Strategy from Oregon State University and a B.S. in Biology from Davidson College(opens in new tab/window). She is passionate and committed to the future of microalgae as a sustainable resource.
