Kin-Hang KOK

Associate Professor

The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Dr. Kok is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology, The University of Hong Kong. He is a virologist interested in the host-virus interaction and antiviral responses including “interferon signaling”.

He first identified a host antiviral protein, PACT, that can recognize the viral defective interfering RNAs and optimally induce the production of type-I interferon, an indispensable primary antiviral response during early infection. In addition to molecular virology and immunology study, Dr. Kok and his team designed and developed novel vaccines such as intradermal influenza vaccine, nasal vaccine protein booster, and next-generation pan-sarbecovirus vaccine.
