Dr. Jean-François Berret is a director of research at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, working at the Université Paris-Diderot, Paris-VII in France. He is a world-renowned expert in the fields of soft condensed matter and in biophysics.

His research focuses on understanding, controlling and tailoring the interfaces between inorganic nanomaterials and biological systems. The design of innovative colloids and interfaces is based on techniques of covalent and non-covalent binding, offering multi-scale control and versatility. In collaboration with medical doctors and biologists, his work also addresses the development of nano-tools for imaging, bio-sensing and therapy in living cells and tissues. Dr. Jean-François Berret is the author, or co-author, of 141 peer-reviewed papers and 8 patents.
